Pricing and What's Included
When you buy a pup from me IT IS YOUR PUPPY, PERIOD. Down the road if you decide to breed that pup from me, you DO NOT 'owe' me anything, pick of the litter, half of the litter, or the whole litter! That is YOUR litter! There are no surprises, no hidden agenda, no BS, no strings attached. I don't do spay/neuter agreements or demands. I don't tell you who to breed your puppy to.
I strive to make available puppies at prices the rancher on a budget can afford. To that end, I endeavor to offer LGD crossbred litters that are lower priced than the rare purebred breeds, yet still give you a top dog out of working parents. These cross pups get the exact same love, health care, vaccinations, deworming, and are started on goats, just as the purebred litters. Please refer to my LGD Crosses page for more information on what I offer, and photos of past litters.
Note: The lower prices go to working ranch/farm homes with livestock ONLY. Pet/companion/personal protection/show prices are the higher end of the pricing scale.
Payment Terms: A deposit of half of total puppy price to hold a puppy, no exceptions. Balance due before pup leaves ranch. Check, money order, cashier's check, cash. Receipts provided for your records/tax purposes.
I am more than happy to have you come see pup's parents on my ranch. ALL PARENT STOCK IS HERE. Please call in advance to make an appointment and I will gladly show you all my dogs and answer your questions honestly.
“When can I take my puppy home?”: Any time after 9 weeks of age. I have found that between 9-11 weeks is an excellent time as their mother has had ample time to teach them play fighting and imprint important training on to her litter, and, this is the ideal age for the pup to bond to YOU....and that is just as important. In some cases I will make exceptions to this but no pup leaves before 8 weeks of age. Note: Unless previous arrangements have been made, any pup left here after 11 weeks will increase in price by approximately $100 a month.
My pups are all started and bonded to stock before they leave here! This does not mean I put them in once a week, like some breeders will, and then try to claim their pups are 'started/bonded' to stock. This means daily, from a few weeks on, my pups are in the livestock. They are introduced in stages. They also have smells of goats and sheep in their whelping box (manure in a burlap bag). I take them out into the stock when they can maneuver safely and eyes and ears are functioning and reflexes are strong. Intro's are done for short periods and increased daily. Mother is with the pups at all times, and usually the father as well.
My pups will be introduced to coyote and wolf smells by letting them 'play kill' on wolf and coyote hides (with blood and guts attached!).

All puppies are socialized and brought up with adults and started on guarding goats and sheep, and exposed to poultry, children and visitors. All pups receive parvo/distemper shot series. All stock here including all imports, are microchipped per kennel licensing State of Nevada regulations. If you do not want your pup microchipped please let me know and I won't; some people do not like it. If pup is too young to finish the series of shots by the time you take him/her home, I will send remaining shots home with you wrapped in ice packs with instructions of when to give them. PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO GIVE THE SHOT/SHOTS. I will not be responsible if your pup becomes ill due to your negligence in this matter. All puppies dewormed on 12 day basis from about 3 1/2 weeks of age. You should continue a deworming program at home, it is extremely important to keep your dog parasite free so it can grow and meet its potential. Rabies shots should be given from 4-6 months of age; I will give rabies shots to any pups still here at 4 months of age.
I 'custom raise' my pups. If you are a big range operation who prefers your pups are handled less TELL ME and I will oblige you. Likewise if your pup is going to be a pet/family guardian/home protector TELL ME and that pup will be handled more.
My pups are health guaranteed meaning that if they develop a defective genetic ailment I will replace them with a puppy of equal value. A signed paper from your vet describing the issue must be presented to me along with substantiating documentation if any.
Our lives often change radically not always for the better, or in the way we’d like it. Should something happen to where you are no longer able to keep your pup, such as a forced move, divorce, health crisis, death in family, etc., please contact me and I will buy it back from you at 3/4 price or help you find a replacement home or buyer for it. Please contact me should something like this happen, I will help you. Please don't put pup in a shelter. I will help you find a new home for it.
I DO NOT AKC REGISTER OR ADVOCATE THE GENTRIFICATION OF WORKING DOGS BY THE AKC. I also find that most REAL ranchers do not care if their dogs are registered or not; they DO care that they guard livestock.
I reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone I deem not able to adequately handle, raise or care for any of my dogs or puppies.
I am pleased to be working with conservationist groups on placing LGD's with ranchers as non-lethal predator control. Please contact me for more details on discounted pricing for litter placements with cattlemen's or sheepmen's / woolgrowers' groups.
