Cinco Deseos Ranch Success Stories

Cinco Deseos Ranch Livestock Guardian Dogs are presently working as livestock guardians in Canada, California, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Texas.  Although initially started as pups only on goats, my dogs have adapted to and are successfully guarding sheep, cattle and horses as well as goats, and providing family, ranch, farm and home companionship and protection.  Now that I have added some sheep to my ranch, my pups will all be started both on goats and sheep.

Below are some references from actual buyers and future owners of my pups.  Unlike other breeders I've handed out references since day one.  If you'd like, I would be happy to direct you to actually talk to my satisfied customers about their buying experiences and their pups they have out of my dogs, so you actually hear it from them.  Below are just a few photos of some of my pups from past litters.

A sincere thank you to all my valued clients.  Your faith in my dogs and in my integrity and breeding goals, keeps me dedicated and focused.  ~~~ Brenda

Dear Brenda, you must get tired of all the BS they are saying about you and your (incredible dogs) but don't weaken, I personally think what you are doing is long overdue.  I totally support your effort to keep the Spanish Mastiff a true, tall, and great working breed not some sized down showpiece.  The stuff those ****** people are saying only makes it easier for those of us who are sincerely looking for the 'real deal' to decide who we'll be buying our working LGD Spanish Mastiffs from - and that person is YOU....Tracy in Modesto

Anyway I just wanted to tell you that my Tilly  is THE VERY VERY BEST GUARD DOG EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  She is so good with the sheep I can't wait to get pictures printed so i can send you some. She is so awsome, even the girls at the vet think so, they made her a tag that has princess printed on it. I feed her in the house morning and night and the tv was on in the other room( the preditor channel) not a good thing to have on when you have a lgd in the house. She went after the tv . She is also all business when she is in with the sheep . I can't thank you enough for her I just love her, she weighs between 80 and 90lbs. right now. She is just BEAUTIFUL, SMART< and BRAVE!!!! That is why she can't be loose at night any more. She goes after the coyotes in the pivot by herself and I am afraid there could be too many. I haven't seen any marks on her but I have on my friends guard dog. So Tilly stays locked up with the sheep. Brenda I'll try and get some pictures of this wonderful dog to you asap. Thanks Kay

Enjoyed our conversation and so excited about getting a Spanish Mastiff from you. After we spoke this week I researched other websites and breeders in US, and well its why I'm buying from you not them...  Can't wait to come out and see all your dogs after Christmas.  I love your new boy "Jefe".  Patron blows my mind!!!!   S. Thomas, Lakeview, Oregon

Kudos to all of you for yet another "very best Goat Rancher issue ever."

Brenda,

It was a real pleasure to meet the "kids.". We are probably at least 6 months out for the purchase of one of the brindle Spanish Mastiffs, male.  The new baby was such a treat.  ...Thank you for the magazine as it was more thorough than the previous article I read from the range magazine. Again, thank you for the wonderful time and we look forward to our next trip.

Brad

Jimmy AKA Peanut is doing great.  Michael shot a coyote this morning and right after it died Jimmy ran out and attacked it.  Glad to hear the female is bred.  I will anticipate getting a pup then around the first of March.   That will be a good excuse/reason to head to the Ranch Rodeo.  Keep me posted as to what is going on.  It is going to be negative 20 tonight, so I think winter is officially here.
Best of luck going into winter!  - Crystal (Canada/Oregon)

Hi Again Brenda:  We hadn't visited your web site for ages.  This rainy morning was an opportunity to enjoy.  I don't know who designed your site; love it.  So informative.  We would certainly recommend anyone wanting a large breed dog to talk with you.  We found our experience to be very enjoyable and had or have never doubt of your integrity from the beginning as well has have gained  friendship!  Love hearing from you when ever you have time, we understand. Sun is taking over from the rain so best get busy.  John & Darlene, Oregon

Brenda my girlfriend's sister that have a big band of sheep in Bakersfield and run some sheep in Nev. took the male pup. I talked to her today and they are so proud of him and really like him. He is in  a fenced orchard with some rams and some other LGDs and is doing fine. ....  Also the next time you breed that combo let me know so I can tell them. They might be wanting a girl , they just have males right now. You did well with this cross they have the maturity and the bark of an older dog. Tilly is spoiled, but is good with sheep, I was worried because she favored the calves but she is back to spending more time by the sheep. Likes to come in the house in the morning for vitamins and her first bowl of food. I do that so my other dog can have a chance to eat in peace. She loves water and is smart enough to use the bubblers so she doesn't have to walk over the water bucket... Don't tell anyone I spoil Tilly because she will still take care of the sheep, it's in her blood.... Talk to you later, and hope this finds you well.

Hey Gal!  Those "mangy mutts are doing great!  Just love them both.  Fiesty is living up to his name and Snip is really mellow.
They love the other dogs, goats and most people.  I just wish they would eat more - they seem thin to me.  Glad you sent the photo of the guy you kept - his weight looks similar to these guys.  Got 103 goats in milk now and 237 kids on th ground.
Busy, busy, busy!   I'd be happy to give you a reference anytime to anyone.  Just call or email the details.  We'll talk soon.  Take care.  JD, Cedarville, CA

Brenda:  Checking in to say hi, and to let you know this pup is by far the most eager and bright LGD we have owned and a real natural.  We have recommended your dogs to four ranchers near us so expect some more customers.  MG, Alturas, CA

"Zeb", Kangal x Maremma/Anatolian Cross (Elmas x Pak Litter 2011).  What's this?  An LGD lounging in a swing?  You bet.  Don't buy into the myth of "you can't touch or socialize your LGD or it won't guard".  Proof it can be done: Beautiful Zeb multi tasks at keeping a sprawling, forested ranch, livestock AND his wonderful family safe from predators and harm in Oregon.  This is just one of the benefits of socializing a pup from day one.

"Peanut" is busy keeping foxes away from his farm in Canada now; at five months of age, he's too little to tangle with wolves yet.

Above:  "Peanut" - Great Pyrenees/Polish Tatra cross (Peso x Paloma Litter 2011), now in Canada, where's he'll grow up to guard sheep.

"Willa Lilly" - Kangal x Anatolian/Maremma cross (Elmas x Pak & Pala Litter 2010), guarding a large goat ranch in Idaho against predators.

"Big Bertha" - Kangal x Anatolian/Maremma cross (Elmas x Pak/Pala Litter 2010), keeping pit bulls away from mini-horses, Reno, NV.

"Paloma Jr." and "Precious" - Great Pyrenees x Polish Tatra cross (Peso x Paloma Litter 2011), Going to guard livestock on a ranch in Lakeview, Oregon.
